Jon Deitemyer is one of the most exciting and in-demand drummers in the Chicago music scene. Jon attended the University of North Texas, where he received a Bachelor of Music degree in Jazz Studies. Jon was invited to and attended the Banff Improvised and Creative Music Workshop in 2004 led by Dave Douglas, and has performed with many great jazz artists including Zach Brock and the Coffee Achievers, Greg Osby, Sam Barsh, Grazyna Auguscik, Patricia Barber, Lynn Seaton, and Stefan Karlsson.
Bassist/composer Jeff Greene is one of the emerging young talents in the Chicago jazz and creative music scene. Since completing his Bachelor of Music in Jazz Studies from Indiana University in 2004, Jeff has been an active composer and performer in Chicago and throughout the Midwest. In 2004 Jeff attended the Steans Institute for Young Artists at Rivinia and in 2006 he attended Betty Carter’s Jazz Ahead program at the Kennedy Center in Washington DC. Among Jeff’s many collaborations, he most notably leads and composes for the groups Human Motion and Blink.
Originally from Boston, Massachusets, Sean McCluskey has been an active pianist in the Chicago music scene since his move to Chicago in 2004. Before attending Northwestern University and receiving his Bachelor of Music degree in just three years, Sean attend the inaugural Brubeck Institute Summer Jazz Colony. He has performed with and has been mentored by Chicago’s own Bobby Broom, Dennis Carroll and Joel Spencer. Currently he is a member of the Michael Salter Quintet, Rodriguez, and The Red Hot Organ Trio, and has a passion for Irish Music as well as studying Irish Accordian.
Saxophonist Caroline Davis is currently an active freelance musician in the Chicago area as well as a Ph.D candidate in Music Cognition at Northwestern University. Caroline holds undergraduate degrees from the University of Texas at Arlington in Psychology and Jazz Studies. She was selected as one of five young female jazz musicians to form the 2006 Sisters in Jazz, a group devoted to the mentorship of women in jazz. Caroline continues to balance her academic interests with performances in various ensembles, including Zing, Tomorrow Music Orchestra, and Pedway.
James Davis, a native of Waxahachie, TX, is an active trumpet player and composer in Chicago. After finishing his Masters degree at the University of North Texas, playing in both the One O’Clock Lab Band and Wind Symphony, he moved to the Chicago area in 2004. James was selected as a finalist in the 2007 Carmine Caruso International Jazz Trumpet Solo Competition and the 2004 International Trumpet Guild Jazz Improvisation Competition. He has performed with his quintet and other groups at many of Chicago’s premiere venues including the Green Mill, Andy’s Jazz Club, the Auditorium Theater, the Hungry Brain and others.
